Welcome, you!

This blog tracks wasted foods and meals the author comes across during his everyday life.

Statistics estimate that 1/3 of the food produced globally is being wasted, while consumers contribute for the biggest part. (Kreutzberger, S. and Thurn, V.: Die Essensvernichter, 2012)

Though some of the thrown foods shown may look like harmless, small leftovers - taking all together, it really sums up. This is where food waste is happening, right there, on the streets.
Thus, grown to be thrown aims to uncover where all the food is ending up.

Once started to have an eye onto street waste, it was hard to ignore wha emerged under his eyes: from small tiny gummy candy to full breads and pastries; inside trash bins, beside trash bins, far away from trash bins...

I don't know where this blog's leading to - time will show, and YOUR comments and contributions are happily welcome!
